Who We Are
TCMERF is an acronym for Tarrant County Medical Education and Research Foundation.  It was founded in 1970 by a group of interested citizens and physician members of the Tarrant County Medical Society, who saw need for a professional treatment center for indigent drug abusers in the community.  It is a nonprofit organization and is funded today by client fees, Medicaid and contracts and/or grants from the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) contract.

TCMERF is the oldest, most experienced and most respected opiate treatment program in the metroplex. Its clinical staff consists of doctors, nurses and counselors, all here to help you.

We are a nonprofit agency, funded in part by the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, and are here to help you, not to make money. If you cannot afford to pay our low fees, we will provide FREE treatment for a time to help you get your life together. Call us for an appointment.
